Butcher's Cart Shiraz
Wine
St Hallett Butcher's Cart Shiraz was created in 2012 to celebrate the winery's 70th birthday. It pays homage to the founding Lindner family who were butchers at the turn of the 19th century, traversing the Barossa selling meats from a cart.
The fruit is sourced from select Barossa Valley vineyards grown in red brown earth, which delivers generous Shiraz. Additional grapes are sourced from the high altitude Eden Valley for lift and length.
Each vineyard parcel is vinified separately. All batches see 10 days of skin contact and multiple pump overs daily. Once pressed the wine matures for 10 months, primarily in seasoned American oak.
Every barrel is individually assessed at final blending.
Dark red purple, St Hallett Butcher's Cart Shiraz is soft, juicy Barossa Shiraz with rich dark fruit flavours and bold tannins. Cellaring potential is five years.
